Description

A comforting and hearty lasagna with layers of rich bolognese sauce and melty cheese, perfect for family gatherings and weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • Lasagna noodles
  • Ground beef or Italian sausage
  • Homemade Bolognese sauce
  • Ricotta cheese
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Eggs
  • Olive oil
  • Garlic
  • Onion
  • Italian seasoning
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Fresh basil (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté chopped onions and garlic until translucent.
  4. Add ground beef or sausage and cook until browned.
  5. Stir in bolognese sauce and simmer for about 20 minutes.
  6. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, eggs, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to create a creamy mixture.
  7. In a baking dish, spread a layer of bolognese sauce, followed by noodles, then the ricotta mixture, and a layer of mozzarella. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with mozzarella on top.
  8. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove foil and bake an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.

Pair with a crisp green salad and garlic bread for a complete meal. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 4 days or frozen for longer storage.
