Description

A warm and hearty casserole combining tender egg noodles, savory ground beef, creamy sour cream, and melted cheese, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz Egg Noodles
  • 1 lb Ground Beef (or turkey/chicken)
  • 2 cups Sour Cream
  • 1 cup Cheese (Cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • Seasonings (Italian herbs or paprika, to taste)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion and minced garlic. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until the meat is no longer pink and the onions are translucent.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture with sour cream and half of the cheese. Stir in the drained egg noodles and mix until well combined.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish. Spread evenly and top with the remaining cheese.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and golden brown.

Notes

For an extra flavor boost, sauté bell peppers or mushrooms with onions. You can also add crushed crackers or breadcrumbs on top before the last 10 minutes of baking for a crispy topping.
