Description

A warm and savory breakfast casserole featuring flaky croissants, perfect for family gatherings or busy weekdays.


Ingredients

  • 6 croissants, torn into pieces
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Gruyere)
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon or sausage
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and the optional vanilla and mustard.
  2. In a greased baking dish, layer the torn croissants, cheese, meat, and green onions.
  3. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered ingredients.
  4. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  5. The next morning, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes, until the casserole is golden and set.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.
