Ingredients
- 6 croissants, torn into pieces
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Gruyere)
- 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon or sausage
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and the optional vanilla and mustard.
- In a greased baking dish, layer the torn croissants, cheese, meat, and green onions.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered ingredients.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- The next morning, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes, until the casserole is golden and set.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
