Crispy and flavorful dry rub chicken wings, perfect for game day or a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs chicken wings
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) or your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix together smoked paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if using) to create the dry rub.
- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to ensure the rub sticks.
- Toss the wings in the spice blend until they are evenly coated.
- For oven baking: Arrange the wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 40-45 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until crispy. For air frying: Place the wings in the basket in a single layer and air fry for about 25-30 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Patting wings dry is crucial for crispiness. Letting the rub sit on the wings for at least 30 minutes enhances flavor.
