Description
A creamy and spicy twist on a classic mac and cheese that features shredded chicken and zesty Buffalo sauce.
Ingredients
- 8 oz macaroni
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1/2 cup Buffalo sauce
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Cook macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbly.
- Gradually whisk in milk and continue cooking until the mixture thickens.
- Stir in the Buffalo sauce and shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
- Add the shredded chicken and cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce; mix until well coated.
- Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions if desired.
Notes
For a spicier kick, use Pepper Jack cheese. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
